Tasting Notes

Notes of black tea, dried roses, coupled with bright acid and polished tannins define this wine as coming from typical “cool climate” growing regions. Generous upfront fruit along with its exceptional structure will make this wine a keeper for the collector but is sufficiently balanced that its youthful exuberance can be enjoyed immediately.

Fermentation: 10% new Francois Freres French oak. 18 months in barrel.

2010 Pinot Noir “Nevertell”, Santa Barbara County

Bright ruby-red, ripe cherry and licorice on the highly aromatic nose and palate. Offers an appealing sweetness and becomes spicier with aeration. Finishes powerful and long with gentle lifting acidity and smooth, sweet tannins.

2010 Syrah “Second Sin”, Edna Valley

Perfume of ripe bing cherries, blueberries, raspberries, plum, blackberries, herbs de Provence with a hint of smoke. On the palate, juicy dark berry fruits, peppery spice and fine chalky tannins. This wine is elegant and the fruit is pure. Fresh with greta structure, vibrant acidity and a smooth persistent finish. This is a special library selection and only available in limited quantities. Made with biodynamically grown grapes from the Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard.
